  • When: THIS SATURDAY, Jan. 8
  • Where: The Fellowship Hall of FUMC . . . it will be transformed into a warm & cozy coffee house setting!
  • For Who: High School Age & Up
  • Why "JC": It's a social evening where we aspire to honor "Jesus Christ" in all we do: wholesome atmosphere and wholesome entertainment, fairly traded coffee, tea & hot cocoa, no junk foods, no throw aways; "real" cups & plates!
  • Music: Contemporary Christian
  • Time: 7 PM Doors Open, Refreshments Available
    7:30 PM - FUMC Youth Band Performs
    8:00 PM - Refreshment Break
    8:30 PM - Frank Rendo Sings, until about 10 PM, with one refreshment break
  • Tickets: At the Door on Saturday. $5 Donation covers the costs of the evening.

LOCAL & CERTIFIED LAY SPEAKERS SCHOOL: Jan. 8 & 15, Feb. 5 & 12, from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM at Bible Korean UMC, Dix Hills.

THE UM MEN will present the annual Carl Ganz Memorial Roast Pork Dinner on Sat., Jan. 22 at 6:30 PM. The dinner menu will be salad, oven-roasted pork with homemade gravy, potatoes, fresh vegetables, dessert and beverages. Chef Jeff Malecki will be supervising food preparation. This dinner honors the memory of Carl Ganz, a beloved member of the UMM, whose enthusiasm and hard work helped to create this yearly event as well as many other good things for our church family. CONFIRMATION 2005: On Sunday afternoon, Jan. 23 at 4 PM in the church library the confirmation process for this year will begin with an orientation session. All confirmands, parents and mentors should plan to attend.

THE UM MEN announce a "Day Apart for the Men of the LIE District," on Sunday, Jan. 23 at Westbury UMC. The day will consist of worship at 10 AM followed by a luncheon and guest speaker, the Rev. Dr. Alfred S. Maloney. For more information see Jeff James or call 516-797-0919.

LEADER TRAINING WORKSHOPS: Jan. 29, from 8:30 AM - 12 Noon at the Bible Korean UMC, 1201 Carl's Straight Path Road, Dix Hills. Fifteen workshops are available to help leaders of congregations enhance their skills. Among the workshops are: Stewardship, Evangelism, Trustees, Staff-parish, Finance, Christian Education & Sunday School, Youth, Healing & Prayer Ministry, Worship, Administrative Council, and Missions.
