YOU ARE INVITED to come hear our WESLEY CHOIR join with choirs from 9 other churches at the 2005 Children's Choir Festival being held at St. James Church, Setauket at 2:30 P.M. this Saturday, Jan. 29. Refreshments following! Directions: From LIE take Exit 62N (Nicholls Rd.) to 25A East (T-Intersection/light), turning right onto 25A. Turn left at 2nd light, then right into church lot.
WESLEY CHOIR PARENTS: Please call Christine Bouton at (631) 581-2736 to confirm that your child is coming to this Saturday's Annual Children's Choir Festival. Meet at 8:00 am to carpool to St. James Church, Setauket. Bring a bag lunch. I will bring the robes and music folders. Parents need not stay for the rehearsals as I will chaperone the kids. Do arrive in time to get seats for the 2:30 PM Festival Service, open to the public. Refreshments following! The WESLEY CHOIR will sing this Sunday---so please be at church by 9:15 Sunday!
SPECIAL SURPRISE CELEBRATION BRUNCH hosted by the UMW THIS Sunday, January 30, following Worship. Everyone welcome! Come and help us honor a "mighty Saint" in our church family. Tea sandwiches, mini-bagels and muffins, juice, coffee & tea will be served. For information call Joyce Aponte at 731-0591.
BARGAIN VALENTINE ITEMS! The church received a donation of assorted Valentine gifts, decorations and cards for kids. You may see them this Sunday at the CYM table during Coffee Hour. Any money raised will be used for our Sunday School's Lenten Heifer Project. Choose from Disney Princess cards, Dora, Clifford, Hulk, Harry Potter or Hello Kitty. There are mugs, hair twisties, and red gorillas too! Come do your Valentine shopping at the CYM table on Sunday and support a good cause at the same time.
2004 ANNUAL REPORTS of those in church leadership positions, are due, copy ready, in the church office by Sunday, February 6.
CONFIRMATION 2005: On THIS Sunday afternoon, Jan. 30 at 4 PM in the church library, the confirmation process for this year will begin with an orientation session. Confirmands, parents and mentors should plan to attend.
VALENTINES FOR OUR TROOPS Please drop off at the CYM table the names and addresses of friends and/or loved ones serving in the armed forces. The children will be making Valentines on Sunday, February 6.
FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT: On Saturday, Feb. 5, featuring "Shrek 2" on Sat. February 5 at 7 PM in Fellowship Hall. Bring a beverage; there will be pop corn for all!
CHINESE NEW YEAR LUNCHEON: Sunday, February 6, after Worship (11:15 AM - 12:30 PM) Seating is by reservation only: $12/adult, $6/children under 10. Tickets are available at Coffee Hour on Sunday and at the church office during the week. Proceeds will go to support the church budget (50%) and to the relief efforts to victims of the tsunami (50%). There are only 31 seats available and they are going fast.

THE ANNUAL CARL GANZ MEMORIAL ROAST PORK DINNER has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 12, at 6:30 PM.
THE UM WOMEN will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 10:15 AM in the Library. The speaker will be Sandra Salmon who will talk about legal matters and insurance. The hosts for the morning will be the Faith Walk Circle.
MILITARY CHAPLAIN LAURA BENDER, who has served in the Middle East, will be a guest preacher here on Sunday, Feb. 13.
"WHOSE LIFE IS IT . . . ANYWAY?" is the title of the Annual District Youth Retreat, scheduled for Mar. 4-6. All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to participate. The cost is $60/person. If you are interested in attending, please speak to Shanna Wurth or Karen Kendrick.
FAITH IN ACTION: 2 Large Boxes of clothing for infants and toddlers, 63 lbs. total, have been shipped to a UM mission in West Virginia. This was a Christmas project of United Methodist Women which many of the church family supported. Thank you on behalf of impoverished Appalachian children who will benefit by your gifts!
THE UM WOMEN need you! We will continue to collect Kit items throughout the Lenten season; however, we would like to send as may kits as soon as possible due to the overwhelming need of victims of earthquake and tsunamis. If each of you helps just a bit, we know we can reach our goal. Lists of items needed and a box to deposit items collected are in the South Transept. Thank you!
