MULTICULTURAL SUNDAY: this Sunday, 10/29, 9:30am. Celebrating Many Nations, One Faith! Wear ethnic clothing if you have it. Please bring a finger food to share at Coffee Hour which represents your heritage.

HEY KIDS! This Sunday 10/29 will be children's worship service for pre-K thru 5th grade. 6th grade thru High School will stay in church for Multicultural Sunday.

UMW NEWS:
  • Brooklyn (serving breakfast & delivery of coats we collected). Program Meeting Sat. Nov. 4, 9:30am to discuss programs for 2007. All Executive Committee and Circle Chairpersons are expected to attend.
  • Sun. Nov. 5th meeting after church to select a candidate for "Special Mission Recognition Pin" to be given at our Christmas Dinner. All Executive Committee and Circle Chairpersons are expected to attend.
  • General Meeting Tues. Nov. 14th, 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall. Program: Historical Journey of United Methodist Women - Part 2. Speaker: Steve Nowotarski. Host will be Martha/Mary Circle. All women and teens are welcome.

ALL SAINTS SUNDAY is November 5, 2006. On this day, we will remember our loved ones who have finished their course and entered into eternal rest in the past year. If you wish to have a loved one remembered on this day, please call the Church Office.

CARL GANZ MEMORIAL DINNER: The United Methodist Men will present the annual Carl Ganz Memorial Roast Pork Dinner on Sat. Nov. 11, 2006 6:30pm in Fellowship Hall. The dinner menu will be salad, oven-roasted pork with homemade gravy, potatoes, fresh vegetables, dessert and beverages. Chef Jeff Malecki will be supervising food preparation. This dinner will honor the memory of Carl Ganz, a longtime member of the UMM, whose enthusiasm and hard work helped to create this yearly event. Tickets are $13.50 per person. FROM THE OFFICE OF CONNECTIONAL MINISTRIES: Rev. Ed Moses, pastor of St. Paul's and Mount Pleasant United Methodist Churches in Biloxi and Gulfport, Mississippi, will be visiting several locations within our conference. He will be speaking about the work that has been done by the N.Y. Annual Conference and energizing people for the continued work of rebuilding after the hurricanes. He will be at the Woodbury UMC, 577 Woodbury Rd., on Fri., 10/27, 7:30pm. The topic will be "What Is Happening in Biloxi & Gulfport and How You Can Help?"

CHURCH PICTURE DIRECTORY NEWS: The second set of dates for the photographs to be taken for our new pictorial directory is as follows: Fri., Jan. 12th, 3:00-9:30pm and Sat., Jan. 13th, 10:00am-5:00pm. You do not have to be a member of the church in order to have your picture taken (just indicate that you should not be included in the directory when you come for your sitting). A sign-up sheet is in the So. Transept or you may call the Church Office to make an appointment for your sitting.

CHURCH ORGANIST/CHOIR DIRECTOR: Farmingdale UMC seeks part-time church organist/choir director. Skilled, creative organist and pianist to direct and accompany the Chancel Choir and to play at Sunday worship service and other special services. Organ is a twenty rank Austin.
