HANDS
A basketball in my hands is worth about $19. A basketball in Michael Jordan's hands is worth about $33 million. It depends whose hands it's in.
A tennis racket is useless in my hands. A tennis racket in Pete Sampras' hands is a Wimbledon Championship. It depends whose hands it's in.
A rod in my hands will keep away a wild animal. A rod in Moses' hands will part the mighty sea. It depends whose hands it's in.
A sling shot in my hands is a kid's toy. A sling shot in David's hand is a mighty weapon. It depends whose hands it's in.
Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches. Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in God's hands will feed thousands. It depends whose hands it's in.
Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse; Nails in Jesus Christ's hands will produce salvation for the entire world. It depends whose hands it's in.
As you see now, it depends whose hands it's in. So put your concerns, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your families and your relationships in God's hands because...It depends whose hands it's in.
Join us for the Day of Prayer this Saturday (1/20/07) from 9:30 AM -12 Noon as we put all our concerns & hopes in the hands of the One who loves us and has given us His Son who is our hope and life. The Worship Band will facilitate in praise and the M & E Committee will provide refreshments.
If for any reason you are not able to join us even for a part of the time, join us in spirit and pray for our church and our mission together that we may serve the Lord with greater effectiveness that our church will grow and more people may be reached with the gospel of Christ.

CALLING ALL CHERUBS! We will be singing this Sunday. Please be at church by 9:10am to rehearse.
WANTED: BAKERS AND COOKS FOR A NEW MINISTRY! We would like to prepare a list of the names of people within the congregation who would be willing to make a meal or a dessert occasionally when needed. These would be used as a "Gift of love from the congregation" to be delivered to anyone during visitation who has been ill, homebound or in transition. FOOD DRIVE: The United Methodist Men are sponsoring a January food drive to help re-stock the shelves of St. Killian's food pantry. Please bring non-perishable staple food items and place them in the marked bins in the So. Transept. Many thanks for your generosity.

LEADER TO LEADER WORKSHOPS: Jan. 27th 8:30am-12:00pm at the Smithtown UMC. Open to all ministry leaders. Please call the Church Office if you wish to attend. Following are the workshops offered: Missions, Finance, Trustees, Conflict Resolution, Healing Ministries, Staff Parish Relations, Clergy Sexual Ethics, The Great Warming (a faith-oriented discussion on global climate change; environmental & social justice concerns).
JC CAFÉ: HOME EDITION: Church Talent Night, Sat. March 10, 2007. Instead of inviting a talent from outside to our next J.C. Café, the church family is invited to participate in a special "Talent Night". Youth of our church are especially invited to participate in addition to adults. A wide variety of media with a focus on music, as well as dance, poetry reading, artwork, photography and any other talents are welcome. Come and experience the J.C. Café atmosphere with a special focus. Coffee, tea, juice and a variety of delicious desserts will be served. The suggested donation of $5.00 will be given to UMCOR- Darfur as a special offering. There is a sign-up sheet for those who would like to participate on the large bulletin board closest to the stage in Fellowship Hall. Any questions, please contact Pat DiMassi, 516-796-1894. CHURCH PHOTO DIRECTORY NEWS: If you were unable to schedule an appointment to have your picture taken for our new directory, you may submit a photo to the Church Office. The photo must not exceed 4"x 6" and if it is a professional photo, you must have a copyright release statement from the studio.
ALTAR FLOWER CALENDAR: If you wish to have an arrangement placed on the altar in memory of a loved one, or in honor of someone or a special time in your life, please call the Church Office. The cost is $20.
2007 UPPER ROOM DISCIPLINES: are available at the Welcome Center for $10.00.
