CHURCH LIBRARY

FUMC Library Mission Statement:

Paul wrote to Timothy, "When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all, the parchments." ~ 2 Timothy 4:13

Paul had a need for books - how much more the growing Christian of today needs the stimulus of books for reference, for Bible study, for inspiration in Christian living!  We believe we all should learn more about our faith, and we offer a wide range of material to uplift spirits and enlighten minds, including bibles and commentary, theology and doctrine, personal philosophy and social concerns, inspirational and biographies. We also provide special resources and children's material, including games, religious drama and historical reference books.

The church library is a teaching tool to support the mission of the church as well as the growth of individual members' faith and provides information and resources to enhance the quality of life and service for the members of our church and community.  People dealing with the difficult experiences of life, like the loss of a spouse or a wayward teen, often will read a book before they seek counsel.  The right book with a Biblical perspective may help people through a bumpy part of life's journey and it might just help them to see their need for pastoral care.

The library is open to all members and can be used outside regular hours by calling the church office.
