Reverend Joseph Ewoodzie came to Farmingdale United Methodist Church with a diverse background in the Methodist Church. Before coming here he served as Pastor at Greenville-Norton Hill United Methodist Church for 8 years. Following his years at Greenville, Pastor Ewoodzie served 14 years as NY Annual Conference Director of Mission & Outreach Ministries. His own unique personal background and advanced degrees from Hartford Seminary, Drew University and Emory University have equipped him well for serving the congregation. Pastor lives in the parsonage with his wife Benedicta, “Bennie”. Together they are the proud parents of three children, Dr. Joseph Ewoodsie Jr., Dr. Victoria Adom, and Dr. Kwesi Ewoodsie. Bennie and Pastor delight in their four grand children, two girls and two boys. He is an avid tennis and soccer fan. If challenged to a game of ping pong, Pastor Joseph will show no mercy to you in the table tennis arena.
Director of Music
David Majoros grew up in a musical family just south of Pittsburgh where hymn-singing and choral music played a major part in his spiritual and musical life. His earliest memories are of standing on a chair and singing duets with his Dad at church. Dave says, “I live to sing and talk about Jesus Christ and to bring more and more music via The Chancel Choir, The Bell Choir and Congregational Singing to Farmingdale UMC!”
He completed his Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and Literature at West Virginia University and subsequently went on to earn his doctorate in Vocal Performance at the University of Arizona. David has performed major baritone operatic roles with opera companies across the country, and has toured the nation with his self-produced, self-directed Musical/Dramatic Portrait of the great American composer, Charles Ives. In addition to his role as Director of Music for the Farmingdale United Methodist Church, he teaches piano and voice.
David is married to Jayme and has three children and eight grandchildren.
Barbara has been here to help keep the church office humming for more than 16 years. Before coming to Farmingdale she was Church Secretary at Bellmore United Methodist Church.
