UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH

(formerly United Methodist Women)

United Women in Faith is a community of women that seeks to improve the lives of women, children and youth in the United States and internationally. The organization advocates for peace and justice, economic inequality, education, the rights of children, human rights and farm workers' rights.  United Women in Faith also seeks to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so that they can inspire, influence and impact local and global communities.

Farmingdale UWF is open to all women who seek to turn faith, hope and love into action. We are committed to growing in Christian faith through study of the Bible and prayer, caring and supporting one another, and working for justice through service and advocacy. Our mission involves witnessing, sharing and refusing to turn away when the tears of God are being shed over the suffering of His creations.

We stay in touch via social media and meet a few times a year for mission projects, inspiring programs and holiday celebrations. Smaller groups may meet to pursue individual interests or work on shared projects.

Our pledges support international and local missions. We have participated in social ministry, provided health and school kits for Church World Service, collected and delivered gifts to the local schools, community organizations and an upstate children’s home, donated teddy bears to the Fire Department for use with traumatized children, and supported church ventures. For United Women in Faith, faith and action go hand in hand. As we study and work together, we make our faith come alive, and we believe love in action can change the world!
